12 Jul Jacuè (The Gecko Song)
Jacuè is a fun guitar-driven Dancehall song about a nocturnal pet Crested Gecko who goes out to the club to party at night while her parents are asleep on the island of New Caledonia. The song blends together the vocals and signature sounds of Clint Warren (USA), Y-INTEL (Jamaica and Holland), and African Reggae Machine (Zambia).
Three Reggae artists from across the globe (USA, Holland, and Africa) came together to create this fun Dancehall song about a pet Crested Gecko that has become a fan favorite for each of us in our respective locations. Clint Warren is originally from South Africa and immigrated to the USA as a child. Y-INTEL is originally from Kingston, Jamaica and following in the footsteps of Bob Marley’s family, is now part of the developing New Reggae scene in Amsterdam and Europe. Now the most notable Roots Reggae band on the continent of Africa, African Reggae Machine is making a name for themselves throughout Europe and the UK.

Lyrics
Whoa nah nah, oh nah nah
Whoa nah nah, oh nah nah
Whoa nah nah, oh nah nah
Whoa nah nah, whoa nah nah
Jacuè is a lizard
In the corner of the cage
She don’t eat no food
On a hunger strike
With crickets on her head yah (brap)
Asleep all day
Awake at night, here
Go to the late-night happy hour
Get the Two-for-One’s, yah
Jacuè is a lizard,
Who is from the island
With crests on her head, yeah
She’s still got her tail
Yet you can never find her
‘Cause she’s always hiding
Is she anti-social?
So many questions
I don’t have no answers
About what the L. is going on here
Jacuè is a lizard, she’s a lizard
Jacuè is a lizard, she’s a lizard
Is a lizard
Is lizard,
Is a lizard whoa nah nah
Whoa nah nah, oh nah nah
Whoa nah nah, oh nah nah
